TRIP NO 9
INDUSTRIAL MONUMENTS ROUTE:
SILVER MINE - BLACK TROUT ADIT
The historic silver mine creates a labyrinth of mine workings from the 15th to the 20th centuries. The tourist route is 1700 m long with a 270 metre section overcome by boat. Trail in the shape of a triangle connects the shafts "Angel", "Viper" and "God bless you". The underground route is accompanied by authentic sounds of hard work miners, the effects of mine burst, going carts and blasting.
In the shaft top building there is a mining museum, and next to the building - an open-air museum of steam engines.
A few kilometres from the silver mine there is the Black Trout Adit. It is a unique 600-metre piece of the 19th century adit "Fryderyk" draining Tarnowskie Góry underground. Tourists overcome the route by boat by the flickering light of carbide lamps and this is the longest underground flow in Poland!
Black Trout Adit
Adit took its name from trout swimming in it, which look black in the dark light. During visiting the gallery one can see rocks side walls, on which there are vertical grooves, traces of blast holes and the "city" of bats.
The mine underground was registered at the Historic Monuments List.
